If you were given a promise, would you hold on it and believed that one day it will be granted? This is a promise from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel -
Take this Scapular. Whoever dies wearing it shall not suffer eternal fire. It shall be a sign of salvation, a protection in danger, and a pledge for peace.
Promise of Our Lady to St. Simon Stock on July 16, 1251.
It is a promise so comforting, like heaven on earth. What can one asks for? The promise is open to all who believed and hoped, as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is no other than the Blessed Virgin Mary.
It was a promise made long time ago to St. Simon Stock, who at the age of 12 lived a hermit life, had a vision of Mother Mary holding a scapular with the promised "Hoc erit tibi et cunctis Carmelitis privilegium, in hoc habitu moriens salvabitur" and died in the Carmelite monastery at Bordeaux, France on the year 1265. He is also known as Simon Anglus.
She who as a mother is full of love to all her children, not only Jesus but all of us. That love alone would be enough for her promises to be fulfilled when it is our time to go. Amen.
