quickie Cinnamon Rolls
My Version of Cinnamon Melt

McDonald's Cinnamon Melt, oh so yummy!!! I am not a fan of McDonalds but it seems like a good place to be for kids. Children can play and meet up with friends, at the same time have something to eat when their small tummy complains. And it is cool inside. Especially when summer comes, blazing heat outside, McDonalds is such a great place to be - free aircondition, free to play, free shade ( a good place to wait for friends ). All you need is a dollar for your drink. Thumbs up!

McDonalds cinnamon melt is a favorite to my daughter who yearns and always remember to have one everytime we go by McDonalds. Now I have to pay more than a dollar. Hahaha...

The thing is that McDonald's Cinnamon melt is soooooooooo sweet!!! Way too much sweet, can't have more than one order. Good for my pocket but bad for diabetes. Don't get me wrong, we don't have diabetes as of this writing but soon will have it if we keep eating McDonald's cinnamon melt. So, we decided to make our own cinnamon melt in a quickie way. Don't really want to go all the trouble of baking - but a quick and satisfying one to replace the too much, too sweet one.

So, here's what to do.

Buy some dinner rolls from costco. A bag has 36 , which is plenty for a month's supply. I froze some and keep a third in the fridge for my planned cinnamon rolls ( combination of Cinnamon Melt and Dinner rolls).

First, I cut the dinner roll into 4 little pieces. Let's say, 2 dinner rolls turn into 8 bite size rolls. You can cut it into squares or triangles, however you want it. My daughter use her bare hands the first time to tore them into uneven little pieces which looks funny but taste good!

Arrange on a plate into one circle, leaving the center free.

Sprinkle some cinnamon powder into the center, maybe half a teasespoon.
Add brown sugar on top of cinnamon powder, say a tablespoon.
Next add a chunck of butter on top of the brown sugar.
Put in the mini oven for 5-10 minutes at 350 degree.

The butter will melt, mixing with the dry ingredients. You have to mix them all together after taking them out from mini oven to coat more into rolls.

The taste will depend on how much sugar you add. If you want it sweeter, add more but for my part, it is pretty good to taste because I use sugar moderately - afraid of Mr. diabetes.

The other way to do this is to gather them all into one place, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on top and add butter.

Another way of enjoying cinnamon taste is by using a loaf bread, spread some butter, sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on top. Bake it for a minute or two. If you don't have a mini oven, you can also use the toaster.

With toaster, you toast the bread first, spread butter on, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar. It will be yummy!!! Enjoy cinnamon...
